Spend the day exploring and practicing the casual signwritten alphabets - the quick, one-stroke lettering styles most commonly associated with poster writing, grocery shop advertising, and blackboard lettering.

Casual lettering is a fun, quickly executed form of hand-lettering that, when well-practiced, can develop into something full of character and personality.

This workshop will focus primarily on the casual letter, with some diversions into similar script styles and other, more speedy, one-stroke lettering styles. We will look at different casual styles and practice the basic brush strokes required to execute some of these letters, exploring the many variations that can be achieved. We will also look at some fun techniques to add highlights and shadow effects to the letters.

You will also have the option to work on a pre-prepared sign board to take home with you.

This will be a fun, informal workshop, suitable for beginners and those with more experience.

The workshop runs from 10am - 4pm, at my Bournemouth workshop.

All materials supplied.

Coffee, tea, and snacks will be provided.
